Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

Entities meeting the following requirements can be appointed permanent court interpreters:<\/p>\n

\u2013 They meet the general requirements stipulated for civil servants<\/p>\n

\u2013 They are perfectly proficient in Croatian and have native-like proficiency in a certain foreign language; if the appointing court is competent for an area with both Croatian and an ethnic or national community\u2019s or minority\u2019s language being official languages, they also must have native-like proficiency in that language<\/p>\n

\u2013 They have graduated from a university graduate course of studies<\/p>\n

\u2013 They have passed an exam in court organization, state administration and legal terminology (except for candidates who hold law degrees)<\/p>\n

\u2013 They have passed professional training at a professional association of court interpreters<\/p>\n

Permanent court interpreters must not fail to meet any of the requirements stipulated for civil servants.<\/p>\n

EU member state nationals or foreign nationals can also be appointed permanent court interpreters if they meet the above requirements and if they are both perfectly proficient in their mother tongue and have native-like proficiency in Croatian or the language of an ethnic or national community\u2019s or minority\u2019s language.<\/p>\n

  3. Certificate of citizenship<\/li>\n
  4. Certificate of no pending criminal procedure against the Applicant issued by the competent court<\/li>\n
  5. University diploma<\/li>\n
  6. Certificate of proficiency in a certain (foreign) language (level C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) \u2013 for candidates who are not holders of (foreign) language degrees<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Legal remedies<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    The Candidate can appeal against a decision declining permanent court interpreter appointment to the County or Commercial Court that issued such decision within 15 days after the service thereof.
