Recognition of foreign professional qualifications of tourist guide in order to achieve the right of establishment

Requirements

  • that they are nationals of states within the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation, who acquired their professional qualifications in a member state of the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation, nationals of member states of the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation who acquired their professional qualifications in states outside the territory of the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation
  • that they have submitted a request for the issuance of a decision on the recognition of a foreign professional qualification in writing, either electronically or by mail, to the Unique Contact Point or the Ministry of Tourism on form

Documents

  1. Request/ Application form – look E-procedure
  2. Proof of nationality
  3. Proof of completed education
  4. Evidence of formal qualifications or any other proof of completed formal education, pursuant to the Act on the Regulated Professions and the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications
  5. Evidence of professional qualifications pursuant to Article 13 of the Act on the Regulated Professions and the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications
  6. A diploma supplement specifying the educational programme (courses, hours, exercises, lectures)
  7. Proof of professional training
  8. An attestation of professional experience
  9. Evidence of competences
  10. An attestation certifying that at the moment of submitting the request the candidate is not prohibited from pursuing the profession for which he has applied

Where a Member State of the European Economic Area Contract or the Swiss Confederation has already recognized a qualification acquired by a national of another member state of the European Economic Area Contract or the Swiss Confederation outside the territory of the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, the following documents shall be appended to the request for the recognition of a foreign professional qualification:

  1. EU certificate;
  2. Proof of nationality;
  3. Evidence of professional qualifications or any other proof of completed formal education, in accordance with the Act on the Regulated Professions and the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications;
  4. Decision of a member state of the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation on the recognition of the professional qualification in question;
  5. An attestation issued by the same Member State of the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation, certifying that the candidate has three years of professional experience, within the borders of this member state in profession for which the recognition of qualifications is requested, in accordance with the applicable regulations of the member state in question;
  6. An attestation certifying that at the moment of submitting the request the candidate is not prohibited from practicing the profession he has applied for

Fee

Administrative fee:

  • for decisions according to the Tariff No. 2.1 of The Regulation

of Tariff of the Administrative fees                                                              HRK 35,00

Payment of the administrative fees:

– directly to the prescribed account irrespective of the amount

  • amount up to HRK 100 can be paid also in state stamps

Remedy

No appeal may be lodged against the decision on the recognition of a foreign professional qualification issued by Ministry of Tourism. However, an administrative dispute may be brought.
