Requirements

  1. FREEDOM OF CROSS-BORDER PROVISION OF SERVICES:

If you are based in another EU / EEA country, you can provide services on an occasional and temporary basis, without the obligation to register with the Chamber in charge, provided that you:

– submit a written statement of intent to provide services on a temporary or occasional basis by e-mail to the Single Contact Point for Services or the competent authority at tajnistvo@hkpt.hr (Croatian Chamber of Psychotherapists)

  1. BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS:

If you are based in another EU/EEA country, you can permanently practice psychotherapy in Croatia if you register in the Directory kept by the Croatian Chamber of Psychotherapists and meet the following requirements :.

  • proof of completed university or professional study and completed professional work of education,
  • knowledge of the Croatian language in speech and writing,
  • admission in the Directory of the Croatian Chamber of Psychotherapists (application form)
  • submitting an application for a independent psychotherapy practice licence
  • registration of psychotherapy activities for a company/trade or contract with another legal entity

authorized to perform psychotherapy activities.

 Necessary documentation

  • application form for the Chamber membership
  • a diploma or certificate of completed studies
  • a diploma or certificate of completed psychotherapy training
  • certificate of completed propaedeutics of psychotherapy (for counseling therapists, if necessary)
  • European certificate in psychotherapy ECP (if a person has it – not required)

Fee

300 HRK for chamber registration fee (only in cases with business origin)

600 HRK for annual chamber membership fee (only in cases with business origin)

Legal Remedies

Against the Decision on admission to the membership of HKPT no appeal is allowed, but an administrative dispute may be initiated by filing a lawsuit with the Administrative Court of the Republic of Croatia competent for the plaintiff’s residence, within 30 days of receiving the Decision.

No appeal is allowed against the Decision on the issuance of a permit, but an administrative dispute may be initiated by filing a lawsuit with the Administrative Court of the Republic of Croatia competent for the plaintiff’s residence, within 30 days of receiving the Decision.
